PAUSE for Professionals offers support and programming for POC business leaders in the end of life and grief fields.

Offerings are designed for those who are from and serving Communities of Color, institutions that support POC, and other end of life practitioners in the industry.

This programming and these collaborations aim to help People of Color process their grief and adjacent activities in a culturally appropriate setting and through a variety of modalities and services.

Businesses and entrepreneurs will engage in programming that encourages them to connect to other practitioners for collaboration, create custom content that reflects their expertise and community needs, and advocate for culturally appropriate service offerings.

  • PAUSE Residency

    A multi-module residency program offering business support (financial, development, and networking) and custom content development to POC end of life professionals.

  • PAUSE Starlight Program

    A multi-year offering of programs and labs designed to connect POC end of life professionals to research and healthcare institutions focused on enhancing the death and dying experience for People of Color in North America.

  • Community

    PAUSE for Professionals aims to connect POC professionals by hosting community-building spaces and collaborative project facilitation; as well as connecting providers to the PAUSE Online and PAUSE for Business members.

Enhancing the death, dying, and grief experience for Communities of Color

To expand resources, leadership, and network resilience in end of life care. Starlight is the first of PAUSE’s professional and business development programming, built to support end of life, grief, and mental health professionals from Communities of Color.

PAUSE Starlight will launch three core programs.

  • Starlight Business Development Residency

    Module-based Communities of Practice and trainings for a select cohort of leaders in deathcare from Communities of Color.

  • Starlight Community Cohort

    A 2-year program that includes a cohort of 8-12 fellows who work with the PAUSE network to achieve set projects and objectives focused on end of life care.

  • Starlight Educational Series

    A series of interactive learning sessions on grief, end of life services, and the significance of culturally-informed death care.
